Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Coco, the resilient and loving Australian Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her wagging tail. At three years old and weighing 46 pounds, Coco has overcome numerous challenges yet continues to approach life with boundless enthusiasm and a spirit that inspires all who meet her.
Coco's journey began with a rough start when she found herself in our rescue, nursing a broken leg and caring for a litter of puppies. She arrived as a stray with no known history, yet her indomitable spirit captured the hearts of everyone she encountered. During her initial vet visit, Coco was diagnosed as heartworm positive. She faced the long treatment with unwavering patience and resilience, earning her the title of the best patient at the vet office. Her broken leg has since healed, leaving her with a slight limp, a reminder of her journey to recovery.
While awaiting her spay appointment, Coco unexpectedly went into heat, affecting her interactions with other female dogs. Despite previously cohabiting peacefully with a female companion, this hormonal change led to tension, but she found solace and companionship in a senior male housemate, with whom she has formed a strong bond.
Coco has blossomed into a well-behaved and affectionate companion. She is crate trained, house trained, and exhibits a medium energy level, making her the perfect blend of playfulness and tranquility. Coco is cat-friendly and enjoys playing independently, particularly when it involves destuffing her toys.
Currently residing in a home with a fenced yard, Coco's playful antics often involve chasing rabbits and squirrels and voicing her opinion to passersby. While her leash walking skills remain untested, her eager demeanor suggests she will excel with a little guidance and training.
In Coco, you'll find a companion who embodies resilience, love, and unwavering loyalty. Despite the challenges she has faced, her spirit remains unbroken, her heart open to new adventures and endless love. If you're looking for a canine companion who will enrich your life with joy and devotion, look no further than Coco.
