My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cedric - a truly special little guy with a heart full of love! Cedric is incredibly people-friendly and absolutely adores attention. Whether you're petting him or simply talking to him, he thrives on human interaction and will shower you with affection in return.

While Cedric is still working on perfecting his leash manners and does tend to pull, he's making great progress and will continue to improve with a bit of training. He has a clean kennel, which suggests he may already be housetrained or will be easy to train in his new home.

Cedric would do best as the only pet in his household, where he can be the center of attention and form a deep bond with his new family. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who enjoys being the focus of your world, Cedric could be the perfect fit!

Come meet this sweet boy and see if he's the one who will steal your heart!

More about this shelter

Dogwood Animal Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill shelter.

Since its infancy, compassionate, like-minded volunteers have been the driving force behind Dogwood Animal Shelter. Through auctions and sales, a handful of dedicated people raised enough money to build its first, albeit small facility and was established as a 501(c) 3 in 1976. It was filled beyond capacity almost immediately.

The shelter is funded entirely from donations and proceeds from their Dogwood Animal Shelter Thrift Store.

After years of saving, planning and busting at the seams with fur-babies, in 2005 it was time to build a new facility with their own in-house clinic! Under the direction of Dr. John Reinhold and coupled with a very dedicated and gifted team of Veterinarians and staff, Dogwood Animal Shelter continues to offer low cost spays and neuters to the public as well as services to their shelter buddies; services to approximately 2,000 dogs and cats yearly!

Dogwood Animal Shelter began their journey of being a successful no-kill shelter in 1997, and since then has saved over 40,000 lives!
