My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mimi is a 58lb Boxer mix born approximately 3/1/22. Mimi is an energetic girl that loves playtime! Her favorite activity is aimlessly running around while being chased by her human companion. She has lots of energy but is intelligent enough to know how to restrain herself in the right moments. Rain, snow, sleet, or shine Mimi is always up for a fun play session. Mimi is also an avid tennis ball fetcher. Tennis balls not only heighten her senses but she also bolts at the speed of light to catch a tennis ball. She is an absolute pleasure spending time with and would be highly recommended for anyone who wants an active playful companion.

Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. Every pet available for adoption is current on shots spayed/neutered, and microchipped. You may submit an application online for pre-approval and to set an appointment or you can visit the shelter Wednesday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm. Please note that the kennels close for pet viewing at 4:30pm.

More about this shelter

The mission of the Humane Society of Pulaski County is to rescue, care for and find homes for abandoned, abused, homeless and unwanted animals; to reduce suffering of animals; and to reduce the number of homeless animals through adoption, spay/neuter, and through education.

The Humane Society of Pulaski County provides access to low-cost, healthy, inoculated, sterilized animals to people seeking to adopt animals as pets only. Adopters are screened to see if they can provide the basics of care for the animals, proper housing, and continued veterinary maintenance; and have no history of animal abuse or irresponsible ownership.

The Humane Society is a private no-kill shelter, supported solely by donations, fund-raisers, bequests and grants. We receive no city, county or state funding, nor are we affiliated with any other organization. We have been rescuing animals since 1946, and have been in our present building since 2000.
