My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ho ho ho! Santa, here! Yes - Santa - like the old man in the suit! I’m not an old man, though (I’m only 2), and I don’t wear a suit (cause I’m a husky-malamute, silly), but I will bring your family Christmas cheer all year long!

Here are some presents I will bring to your home if you pick me: I am house and crate trained. I do mark in the house to start, but I am not yet neutered (we are working on that), so this behaviour will likely change once that’s done. I know how to sit, lay down, and shake a paw. I am a very social boy and love other dogs and people (cats, probably not cause I love to chase rabbits and birds outside).

Gosh, do I love people!! I will jump up to give you kisses when I first meet you (though I am told not everyone likes that, so we are working on manners). I also really want to be a lap dog! And walking? Well that’s just the best thing ever, isn’t it? I walk well on a gentle leader and am still learning leash skills. I would be a fantastic running buddy if you’re into that!

And the best gift of all is that I am very trainable! I’m so eager to please, I will do absolutely anything for treats and attention. I'm ready and willing to learn if you're ready to have me!

More about this rescue

Baladi & Sled Dog Rescue of Ontario is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, providing veterinary care, and finding loving homes for dogs from the dog sledding industry.

We also extend our reach locally by rescuing stray cats and dogs from Aboriginal communities that we partner with. Additionally, our efforts expand globally as we started this rescue by saving Baladi cats and dogs from the streets of Egypt, but now that it is banned we continue helping Baladi's by supporting their placement in Egyptian shelters.
