My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Drako is the sweetest, handsomest, and most positive boy. He is quite energetic and loves to go for long walks, adventures, and play. He absolutely loves people and has gotten along with every dog he has been introduced to.

Drako gets very excited for his walks, and would need a stronger person to train and guide him on walks. He has improved so much with his leash manners, becoming one of the best dogs to walk at the shelter. He knows basic commands such as sit, and will wait patiently for cookies (while posing like the cutest boy that he is). He also will stop multiple times a walk for belly rubs, just leaning into you and plopping on the ground to get some love. He is also the most photogenic dog, always posing like a model for pictures.

Although he is not too big, he sometimes forgets how strong he is. He does still have some puppy energy, so a home without young children would be ideal. All of his energy is pure excitement to be around people, and never anything aggressive at all.

Drako is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and is waiting patiently to be your new best friend!

More about this shelter

Montclair Township Animal Shelter (MTAS) is a municipal shelter providing animal control services as well as sheltering lost, stray, abandoned and unwanted animals. All animals are cared for by a small team of staff and volunteers, and the animals that are available for adoption are promoted via social media and local events. We work with other rescue organizations to accept and transfer animals, on an individual basis, depending on what is best for the animals. All dogs and cats are spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. In additional MTAS provides TNR services for Montclair & Nutley.
