My story

Piper: The Braveheart with a Love for Life

Meet Piper, a canine marvel who’s as brave as she is agile. She’s a dog who doesn’t just face her fears; she sits calmly beside them, like she did during her first tornado, proving her mettle as a true rockstar.

Piper’s agility is a sight to behold—she can leap onto window sills with the grace of a feline and the joy of a pup discovering new heights. Her toys are her treasures, and she carries them with the care of a guardian, finding comfort in their familiar presence.

Her favorite toy? A pig that oinks, a companion in her playful escapades. And cheese? That’s the way to her heart, even more than the most tantalizing of treats.

Morning zoomies are her ritual, a burst of energy that greets the dawn with enthusiasm. Piper’s intelligence shines through in everything she does; she’s a quick study, eager to learn and even quicker to love.

Praise and pets are her currency, and she’s rich in affection. Commands like “leave it,” “sit,” and “down” are becoming part of her repertoire, as she learns the delicate dance of discipline and fun.

Piper’s perfect home? One with someone who works from home or a retired couple looking for a sweet soul to share their days. She’s gentle with her belongings and with people, never showing signs of aggression.

She’s a trusting soul, allowing you to care for her with ease, whether it’s touching her paws or clipping her nails—she handles it all with a serene spirit.

Piper’s ideal family would be one where older children can understand her need for a gentle approach. She’s not just looking for a home; she’s looking for a heart to connect with, a hand to hold, and a life to share. She is good with other dogs with proper introductions!

Piper is ready to embark on a journey filled with love, learning, and lots of play. If you’re seeking a companion who’s as courageous as she is cuddly, Piper is the one waiting to fill your life with joy.

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
