Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Uma - Dachshund/Terrier - Female - 4 yrs - www.twyla.org
If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org
Meet Uma: this gorgeous little girl was returned to us due to no fault of her own and is now again looking for a new home. She is about 4 yrs old, and a long-haired Dachshund/probably terrier mix, she was shaved before return and we are eagerly waiting for her beautiful coat to grow back in. She is currently a chonky 30 lbs and is working on regaining her figure back, ideally she should be closer to 25 lbs.
Uma is pretty calm and quiet, she LOVES attention and snuggles and sleeping on the sofa with her people. She loves playing with Toys, is house and crate trained. She is ok with other dogs, but would much rather be the center of attention, she may resource guard her person from another dog in the house. We don't know how she would react to cats, we do know that she'll need a home with older kids as she is slippery at the door and a bit of a flight risk if doors stay open just a little too long. She is not a barker, does her business outside quickly with the intend to get back inside to her sofa in air-conditioning. She walks well on leash and enjoys moderate walks.
Uma is looking for a home preferably without another dog so she can be the center or her peoples attention or a dog that is laissez-faire enough to let her be bossy. A family without or with older kids who know how to guard the door so she doesn't run out. She can likely handle regular working hours if she get sufficient attention and exercise before and after work, someone home a lot would be preferred.
***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
