I'm a bit of a wild child, I know some commands like "come" and "follow", but can get distracted and forget how to listen sometimes. If I see something interesting I'll do everything I can to show how excited I am, I can jump really really high and would probably jump over a fence under 6 feet tall. I am housebroken and am pretty good with food. I don't gulp it all down and people at the shelter haven't seen me aggressive with my food either. Since I'm so big, at 47 pounds, and jump up on people I probably would do best in a home without young children or anyone who could be easily pushed over when I get excited. Once an application is approved, we ask potential adopters to come to the shelter to visit the pet or pets they are interested in. If it seems like a great fit, then we would have you fill out the Adoption Contract and provide you with the pet's medical chart, some of the food it is currently eating, and offer any advice we can on that individual cat or dog.

Our shelter is located at 1471, US Highway 20 West, Elizabeth, IL, 61028. Our hours are: Monday - Saturday, 10am to 3pm. We can provide by-appointment-only visits from 3pm to 5:30pm. We are closed on Sundays.
