My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I came to Safe Haven with my mom, sister and two brothers. I am still in the destructive puppy phase, so watch your shoes around me! I want to chew on and play with everyone I meet here at the shelter. I am only 10 weeks old so I will learn how to be a good girl with proper training. Right now I am fine with my family, but when I see other dogs at the shelter I run and hide behind my momma. If you think you have room in your heart for a puppy like me please submit an application right away! Since I am still a baby, I will require a lot of vetting in the next year. So far I have had my first DAPP vaccine, Bordetella (kennel cough prevention), heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention. I will still need a rabies vaccine once I'm 4 months old, two DAPP boosters, and a spay once I'm 6 months old. Safe Haven asks for a separate $100 security check to stay on file until proof of my spay is emailed to the shelter. Safe Haven is a non-profit that relies completely on donations to save pups like me. However, if needed, Safe Haven can reimburse you $300 towards the spay costs and $20 towards the rabies vaccine. If you have any questions about me please call the shelter at 815-858-2265 or email safehaven1471@gmail.com. Please fill out an adoption application for me at www.safehavenforpets.org. Please visit our website www.safehavenforpets.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Additional adoption info

Once an application is approved, we ask potential adopters to come to the shelter to visit the pet or pets they are interested in. If it seems like a great fit, then we would have you fill out the Adoption Contract and provide you with the pet's medical chart, some of the food it is currently eating, and offer any advice we can on that individual cat or dog.
