My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"My little dog - a heartbeat at my feet." This reminds us of precious Harper, who is one year old and weighs 36 pounds. Her snow white coat is beautifully marked and her golden brown eyes are truly windows to a lovely soul. Harper's distinctive ears remind us of Baby Yoda from Star Wars.

Why we love her: Harper adores everyone is is such a congenial companion!

Here is what one of our volunteers says about sweet Harper:

"This summer, add a splash of joy to your life with Harper! Rescued from an unexpected adventure in the Harpeth River, Harper is ready to dive into a loving home. She's the ultimate fun-sized companion. Harper appears house-trained, is easy on the leash, and absolutely adores kids and people of all ages. She likes other dogs too, but would like to meet yours first to make sure they like her.....and what's not to like? Imagine endless fun in the sun and warm evening snuggles with this cutie by your side!"

Harper is so grateful for you company on daily walks, and she trots happily at your side. She also looks forward to her daily outings in the fenced yard, where she loves to run and play. Harper is very agile and graceful as she bounds about in total joy.

Harper is a favorite cuddle buddy who adores attention and affection and we enjoy her company so much! She is truly a joyful presence!

Lucky Harper is spending some time at the home of one of our dedicated volunteers who reports: "Harper has had no accidents inside and learned the doggie door quickly. She enjoys her time in the fenced yard. Harper likes riding in the car and is very well behaved there. She loves to meet one and all and is very loving and affectionate. Harper is good being crated and also sleeps well at night".

Her foster has also discovered that Harper loves to play soccer. She will sometimes wait until he kicks the ball for her and other times she will grab it on her own and score a goal!

Take Harper home and the fun and devotion are guaranteed!

We are so grateful to Carla Miles for her beautiful photos of our dogs and cats!

More about this shelter

Cheatham County Animal Control is committed to finding good homes for the animals that come into the shelter system. We work with rescues and adopters. We are a no kill shelter but we rely on people coming in to adopt!

All of our cats/dogs receive vaccinations that are appropriate for the age and health when they are at animal control. We also spay and neuter all of our animals. The adopter is responsible for all vaccinations and medical care after adoption.
