My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet and affectionate boy just wants to be your best friend. He’s not a fan of being held but he absolutely demands attention if you are sitting or laying down. He can be downright persistent at times. He loves face rubs, chin scratches, and full body pets. He even enjoys the fast, aggressive body rubs! It really doesn’t matter to him, as long as you’re giving him love. His favorite place to sleep is on or near a human. If that’s not available, he can be found cuddling with his siblings or under the window ledge sunning himself. He just seems to be happy if you’re around.

He would be okay in a home with a dog. He has gotten used to the foster dog, who can be quite annoying and chase the cats when they’re running around. But if the dog is calm, then he doesn’t seem to mind too much and will lay on the couch with him. He also doesn’t have a problem letting the dog know to mind his own business if it gets too much.

He likes all the foster cats he lives with, but the feeling isn’t always mutual. He may just have too much energy for the grumpy cats to deal with. He would be good with younger cats that match his energy. Apollo and his siblings enjoy chasing each other throughout the house and climbing on their wall jungle gym. He loves playing catch with toys but hasn’t learned to bring the toys back. Hoping he would have learned from the dog about this game.

He has never met a stranger either. He will greet people at the door and immediately ask for attention. Sometimes he will make the cutest chirping noises as he wanders through the house looking for someone to play with him. He has never met children but would be great with all ages, even if they may be unintentionally a little rough with him.

You will never have to worry about being alone in the bathroom either. He likes to lay in the bathroom sink to keep watch. Although, you can have fun with that and see how long it takes him to realize you turned the faucet on! He falls for it every.single.time.

He also follows his namesake’s inclination to fire. The only time he was around a candle, he was completely enthralled by the flame. All the other cats understood the danger and stayed away from it. After almost burning his whiskers off, he decided to just use his paw to bat at the flame instead until the foster mom put it out. Needless to say, he should be supervised if candles or a fire in the fireplace are ever present in the home.

If you like affectionate and adorable cats, then this little sun god would be perfect for you!

More about this rescue

A Winning Team

We are a small group of animal lovers who are working together to help facilitate Trap Neuter Release and medical care for animals in need. We are here to help each other help the animals and to partner with businesses, rescues and groups to make the biggest impact.

Our History

Mia (known as “Murderous Mia”) is a rescue cat who came to her mom as a hospice foster with many medical issues. She has overcome a lot of health concerns and in her journey, met a lot of human pals (many of whom are a little frightened of her angsty 4 pd person). She and her pals decided that they wanted to help animals in need. So a group of her people joined together to help do Trap Neuter Release (TNR) to lessen the population and suffering of animals and help cover costs of care for animals in need (dogs, cats, birds... Mia insists on not being specist). She invites all those who want to find a way to help to join her mafia. Her only rules are: 1. the animals come first 2. everyone supports each other and 3. no drama remain calm. The goal is to have fun while we all work together to make life better for the ones we can help.

Animals Are Our Mission

We focus on keeping things positive and supporting each other so that we can be at our best to do the most good for the animals. We strive to collaborate with others and encourage our team to come up with new and better ideas of ways to help and to run with those ideas.
