Hey there, my name is Duke! I was hand selected for K9's For Warriors service dog program from Charlotte Humane Society and passed all my initial tests with flying colors! Since arriving at K9's in January of this year, I've decided I would rather be a family companion over having to work for a living. Initially I can be pretty nervous making new human friends, but once I get comfortable, I am a sweet lover boy! I am incredibly affectionate and like to pretend I'm a lap dog, belly rubs are the way to my heart for sure. You wanna play fetch? Count me in, I'm a total enthusiast. I also really adore treat filled kongs and plushies that squeak for keeping busy. I prefer adult companions as kids tend to make me a bit too nervous, but with the right loving home, I know I'll thrive! I am an intelligent boy, already familiar with my basic cues and eager to learn more. I am neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and eagerly waiting for my furever home!
