My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From Maddies Foster:

Maddie is approximately 3 years old. She was seen on the side of a busy highway for a couple of weeks and I finally stopped.  She hesitantly came over to the car but when I opened the door she jumped right in. She is house trained, energetic, and she gets along well with other animals and people of all ages. She’s very gentle and loves to go outside and be active.

*Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.*

Chance is approximately two years old. He knows basic commands and is house trained. He's energetic and loves to play. He is good with people of all ages and other dogs. Chance was living on the side of the road and had made himself a bed of leaves. I went to feed him a few nights in a row and one time he started chasing the truck. I opened the door and the rest is history. He sat right in the front seat and looked out like he was my copilot. He going to make someone an absolutely great family member.

Listed breed is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be.

This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $500 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.

More about this rescue

We are a small volunteer non-profit 501c(3) rescue group located in Pontotoc, Mississippi serving to match New England adopters with their perfect family member. All of our rescues are in private foster homes where they are treated like family. We do not operate a physical shelter. We are happy to provide vet references and testimonials from previous New England adopters.

All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.
