Patterson got his start with us as a stray puppy (6 months old) that was hiding on the upper floors of new development construction. He could be seen cowering in corners, darting when people arrived. He would not let people get close but stayed for scraps they left behind. Once humanely trapped he was processed through the shelter hoping an owner would come. No one showed, he was shut down and the shelter life sealed his fate if not pulled out. His captor saved him again and gave him a place to land and start over. Patterson, just a puppy, arrived withdrawn, fearful and checked out. However, his youth would carry him through it. His curiousity of what other dogs were excited about soon overrode his fear. He slowly started looking forward to interactions, treats and play dates. He has steadily gone from fear of everything to not enough to explore. He is still young and dumb. His lack of socialization can get him into trouble at times with dogs. However, he is extemely sensitive, eager to please and suspect quick to train. In the right hands, with someone that respects his past and lack of foundation the sky will be the limit. If that person is not you but you want a loving companion with tons of energy but bagage you can manage, he's the guy for you too. He is an easy keeper that just wants to be loved, with his people and safe. He's still a baby so has the go but can also chill. He's spent the last year getting ready for you to take him to the next level and make him yours.
Flight Risk: do not leave unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures. Must be aware of open doors and windows. NEVER offleash in unfenced areas for life.
