My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sadie is an approximately 2 year old German Shepherd brought into rescue from our local animal control. Sadie came in after she was pulled from a home that was not treating her so well. She is still gaining some of the weight back as she came in very skinny and was so relieved when Paws Across Pittsburgh offered her a second chance at becoming healthy.

A second chance was all she needed! Sadie is very trainable, true to the German Shepherd breed, and has completed most of a local puppy course and is doing well with basic commands. She has continued working on leash skills and is making progress. She's crate trained, potty trained, and overall will make an excellent companion who can match her zest for life.

Training is going to be integral to her upbringing as a good canine and will require more of it for her next home! She has been through Star Dog Training puppy class and preference will go to those committed to sticking with her routines that she's created. Sadie would also prefer an adopter that has experience with the breed as she has a high prey drive that will need worked through. So no small animals or cats in the house for this girl! She has been around other dogs, but would be best as only dog in the home due to her current training needs because she can be a bit much towards other dogs. She has been friendly around people and even great at the vet, but has not been exposed to children.

Overall, Sadie's perfect home would have an owner committed to having a lifestyle that embraces training into her every day routines and that is active to be the most successful and happy pup she can be!

Sadie is spayed and up-to-date with all of her vaccines and ready to go! Are you her next loyal companion for life? Apply for her now! KL #16182
