My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Waylon is a 5 yr old mix shepherd/mastiff/huskie mix and weighs about 100 lbs. He is a true best friend and would likely lay down his life to protect his home and his person. He is incredibly keen and super food motivated. Waylon has a lazy, laidback and calm temperament but loves to hike, walk and play. He doesn’t have prey drive, not even for a ball, but does like to find things and ‘work’. He is good with cats and other dogs. Waylon is not fond of children (I get it Waylon, I’m not either). An adult only home is what Waylon is looking for.

He would do best in a home with low foot traffic and someone with working or guardian breed experience. Waylon would do great with someone that has a lot of land or on a farm, as he loves to be free and has great recall to his person.

We will conduct a phone interview, check references and then a home check. This helps us to match a dog with their potential adopter. The adoption fee is $425.00 for adults and $525.00 for puppies under one year which includes spay/neutering, up-to-date age-appropriate vaccinations, flea/tick & heartworm preventative, and a health certificate. We foster our dogs in homes, not in shelters. This allows us to get to know the dogs’ temperaments to match them to a home. This also allows us to get the dogs ready to live in their forever homes!

More about this rescue

Lifesavers: Skylyr’s Passion, LSP, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping pets help people and people help pets. LSP was founded in 2012 to give homeless pets a chance at the life they deserve and give people that want them an opportunity to find them.

We focus on matching homeless pets with potential adoptive families. This has resulted in some amazing results: We have many adoptions that have the humans telling us that they are thrilled to have found the pet they adopted. And the pets are equally thrilled with the homes they have found.

We are just people who happen to love animals and believe that unwanted pets deserve a chance. We have developed a network of amazing like-minded people who foster, transport, volunteer, and support. The end result is that we are making a difference! We invite you to become part of the team. It is fun and very rewarding
