Meet Jafar!
Rescue Story: Jafar's journey has been one of resilience. He was discovered tied with a leash of less than 1 meter in a container at a construction site, surviving on scraps and stale bread. His world was confined to that small space, but he was rescued from the brink of abandonment. Jafar had an early stage heartworm infection, which he bravely battled through treatment and is now declared healthy.
Personality & Characteristics:
- My foster dog is good with: people - he becomes friendly quickly if approached slowly during the first meeting. He seeks affection and loves attention, and is not aggressive at all! He is good with female dogs, but can be timid and afraid around other male dogs - however, he does get along very well with a male puppy in his foster home. Despite being mistreated by larger dogs that passed by when he was tied up before his rescue, he is generally friendly, but it takes time for him to become comfortable with larger male dogs. He is also a little afraid of kids as sometimes younger children get excited and might startle him, so he would do best in an adult-only home without younger children.
- My foster dog is: House trained - he prefers to go potty outdoors! He is undergoing training to become more comfortable with kennels. While he enters willingly, he doesn't like it when the door is closed.
