Van Halen is a 9 month old Dachshund mix who can’t wait to rock out with his forever home! Van Halen was rescued from the shelter with his musical pals and after some good ol fashioned TLC, he jumped into the arms of his foster and away we went! Van Halen went on a weight-gaining journey and now that he’s feeling 100% fabulous, he’s ready to book his comeback tour in his favorite residency: your house! Van Halen weighs 15 pounds which makes him the perfect sized companion for all the adventures in store for him. With his incredibly unique coat and his happy personality, he’s just a perfect pup!

Van Halen is the sweetest little guy on the planet according to everyone who has ever met him! He wiggles his way into the hearts of all lucky enough to come into contact with him with his fabulous temperament and gorgeous markings. VH is super smart and tries to live his life as the best boy he can be. He loves to be with his people and cuddle, but he is also happy to entertain himself when he needs to. He loves toys and has several favorites on constant rotation. Today, it’s a tiny tennis ball. Tomorrow? Who knows! Van Halen is a fabulous adventure companion. He’s been camping, to the beach, on hiking trails, to the neighborhood park, local breweries, and more! He is also happy to hang on the couch if you are looking for a slower day in between adventures. Our favorite thing about Van Halen? He loves the smallest joys in life, finding prized sticks on his walks and carrying them home proudly. Such a goofy dude! We know his new family will have such an amazing life with him.

Van Halen starts his morning with a brief stroll around the block at 8:30 AM before coming back home for some breakfast. During the morning, VH occupies himself with his toys while his foster family start their workdays. When available, VH delights in cuddles on the couch as he gets chin scratches. His afternoon is filled with naps and more playtime. He is an amazing WFH buddy as he is just so content to be near you. He gets another stroll in the evening as the weather cools down before his dinner at 6 PM. Van Halen spends his evenings lounging on the couch or zooming down the hallway after his toys. Before bed, he gets one last potty break before tucking himself into bed and drifting off to sleep.

Van Halen gets along well with dogs of all ages and sizes. He adores the resident cat and plays with her whenever she allows it. He loves people, from the kids to the kids at heart. Van Halen walks well on the leash and loves meeting his neighbors. Van Halen is an easygoing little buddy who will fit in well in a variety of homes. He is so sweet and just wants to live his life adoring you!

Van Halen is an option for any home, regardless of prior dog owning experience. He would be an amazing first dog. Kids in the home should be over the age of 5.
