Shortbread is currently in foster care and available to meet you via virtual meet and greet. To begin the process, please submit an adoption survey and the team will reach out via email with next steps (please check spam). If you are not sure if you're quite ready to adopt but are interested in Shortbread, she is also eligible for our two-week adoption trial period. This means you can take her home and see if she's the right fit for you and your family first. We'll provide all the support you need during the trial to ensure a smooth transition. Please contact fosternyc@bestfriends.org for any questions or to learn more about the trial adoption process!
Meet Shortbread, a beautiful 3 1/2-year-old female. Shortbread's gentle nature and sweet personality make her a wonderful companion. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, ensuring she's in excellent health and ready for her new home.
Her foster notes, "she has been very at ease since she first arrived at my place, and has since only gotten more and more comfortable...she likes to be pet in short sessions. not a big cuddler. she loves to play and will chase after many of her toys...". They love " how excited she gets about some her toys, and how playful and calm she is. she loves to lay on her back and looks like a little bear when she does.". Her favorite activities are napping near people, playing with wand toy and hair ties, sitting in windowsill and watching people outside She is a wonderful presence in the home.
