Mocha Java Hey, how ya doin? I was first surrendered to the HSHC due to allergies in the family. After living with them for two years, I was sad to see them go, but I understand no one likes sneezing! I am a handsome 4-year-old fellow, already neutered and good with the litterbox. I was one of the lucky ducks that lived in the Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe (SKCC), and I had a ball! The first time I met the interviewer lady (IL), she woke me up from a nap. But I didn`t mind--after all, who turns down a nice neck & chin rub? The day she came to the SKCC, I was perched up in the tree! I was close enough that she could pet my feet when she went on tiptoes. I enjoyed her attention but decided to climb up to check on my new friend, who was known to fall asleep and fall out of the tree! You see, I care about my friends and family, so you can understand that I was thrilled when I got adopted while at the SKCC. But ten days later, my owner sadly brought me back to the HSHC because her existing cat could not tolerate my presence in the home. I have always gotten along well with children and enjoy cats, so it was not my fault! I would appreciate it if you`d like to give me another chance at a forever home where I can share my love with you! 10-4-24

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.
This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
