My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thomas got adopted and they decided to turn around to return him before they even made it home. We NEED to share the story because we believe someone out there will appreciate it & love Thomas more for it!

On his way home from being adopted, Thomas & his new family were going through the McDonald’s drive thru. (We’ve all smelled the delicious scent of a McD’s drive thru...) When they pulled up to the window, Thomas smelled THAT SMELL and couldn’t contain his excitement. He took a leap — straight out of the car window, through the drive thru window & ended up INSIDE THE MCDONALD’S. Yes, that’s right. This little hamburglar could join in on Olympic jumping team…if burgers were at the finish line. If you appreciate this story as much as we do, you’ll appreciate the joy Thomas brings. In his defense, who hasn’t made questionable decisions in a drive thru?!

Thomas is crate- and potty-trained, making him a perfect addition to any home. He knows basic commands and loves to impress by giving his paw, a gesture that captures hearts immediately!

Thomas thrives on companionship with humans and dogs. He loves playtime and has a friendly demeanor. His ideal people would be home often or a home with enough people that someone is usually around.

Thomas LOVES his toys, which keep him entertained for hours. An outdoor enthusiast, Thomas enjoys running and playing outside, where he can stretch his legs and explore the yard. After some time playing, there’s nothing he loves more than relaxing with his humans.

If you’re looking for a faithful friend who is playful, affectionate, and clever, Thomas could be your perfect match. Meet this gem and let him gently paw his way into your life!

Additional adoption info

Peace Love and Paws Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit, animal welfare organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of stray, neglected and abused animals. Peace Love and Paws Rescue is completely funded through fundraising efforts and public donations. All of our pets are cared for by foster homes and receive complete medical care, which includes worming, vaccinations, spaying/neutering and microchipping prior to their adoption.

This questionnaire is designed to help Peace Love and Paws Rescue determine if a specific dog is the right match for you and your household. All adopting and fostering parties are required to complete this form prior to adoption. Peace Love and Paws Rescue reserves the right to deny any adoption or fostering based on answers to this questionnaire and/or interviews prior to adoptions and placing foster homes!

More about this rescue

We are three passionate, animal loving dog moms who met through various volunteer efforts at local rescues in the Detroit area. We continued talking outside of volunteering and quickly came to realize that we all had similar goals, to help as many animals in need that we possibly could. In the Detroit area, there are so many animals who need homes, medical attention, and love.

We decided that we wanted to be able to do more to help these animals. We are raising funds through selling merchandise, fundraising, donations, and supporting local community events. All funds raised will be used to establish a nonprofit status, fund the medical needs of local dogs, and find shelter animals their furever home.

Follow us on our journey to create a rescue that provides animals the love and care they need while they find their home. We will post updates on our social media of the dogs we are able to help and how your support made a difference.
