My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Margo, a five-month-old puppy who's defied the odds with remarkable resilience. When we received an urgent call from the Pet Resource Center in January, Margo's plight became clear. Despite her tender age of 11 weeks and tiny weight of 14.8lbs, she arrived with a severe injury to her back right leg, a gaping wound, and significant swelling.

We wasted no time in formulating a plan for Margo's recovery. Rushed to our vet at Luv-N-Care, she received immediate attention and thorough examination. Remarkably, even in pain, Margo greeted us with smiles and kisses, revealing her incredible strength.

Tragically, she had three to four broken toes and a sizable wound, requiring frequent bandage changes. A specialized wound therapy regimen was initiated, demanding regular visits every five days for treatment.

Margo's journey was further complicated by a worm infestation, amplifying her recovery's challenges. After consultations and x-rays, it was evident that one leg was beyond saving, necessitating amputation—an agonizing but necessary decision for her well-being.

On April 10th, Margo underwent the amputation procedure, facing it with astounding resilience. Despite the hurdles, she adapted to life on three legs with unwavering determination and joy.

Today, Margo radiates happiness wherever she goes. She relishes cuddles, cherishes affection, and gets along swimmingly with both dogs and cats. Her playful spirit, coupled with her tenacity, makes her truly exceptional.

Though currently with her foster momma, Margo dreams of a forever home where love abounds. If you're moved by Margo's story and ready to open your heart and home to her, please reach out to us.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the incredible volunteers and Margo's devoted foster mommy, who provided her with a haven during her time of need. Margo's journey underscores the transformative power of love, resilience, and unyielding determination.
