Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When Southpaw Rescue Founder Veronica went to the San Bernardino City Shelter to pick up a 10-year-old Bassett Hound, she thought she would need the help of one of the shelter workers to pick Lt. Columbo up and place him in the back seat. That was not the case! When she opened the back door, Lt. Columbo leaped in the back seat and wagged his tail as if to say, "Let's go"! There was no looking back!
Lt. Columbo (or LT for short) is your typical senior Bassett Hound. He is vocal when he wants something. He wants to play catch with the other dogs, but then realizes it takes too much effort, so he would rather lie down and watch. LT gets along well with the other dogs in the home, both big and small. He also is good with cats. He walks well on a leash but doesn't really require much exercise. He is easy as can be.
LT went to visit our Southpaw Vet and has the typical senior Bassett Hound issues. He has an ear infection which we are taking care of and will also get a teeth cleaning. Blood work shows he is the typical senior. No major issues.
If you are looking for a mellow, floppy, vocal friend to watch Net flicks with, Lt. Columbo is the dog for the job.
