My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Meet Bogart: The Loving and Resilient 3-Year-Old Shepherd**

Hello there, I`m Bogart, a 3-year-old Shepherd with a heart of gold and a courageous spirit. Despite a challenging start in life, I`m on a journey of healing and growth, ready to find my forever home with someone who understands me.

I may be a bit cautious and fearful in new situations, but with patience and understanding, I quickly warm up and reveal my true happy-go-lucky personality. Kindness and tasty treats, especially chicken, are the key to winning my trust and affection.

I`ve made wonderful connections with the caring staff and volunteers here, and they can attest to my loving nature and gentle soul. Kevin, in particular, can tell you all about the strides I`ve made and the love I have to offer.

I`m looking for a human companion who will continue to nurture my confidence and provide a loving environment where I can thrive. With the right person by my side, I promise to repay their kindness with endless loyalty and affection.

If you`re ready to open your heart to a resilient and loving companion who`s eager to share his life with you, consider me, Bogart the Shepherd. Let`s embark on this journey together and create a bond built on trust, love, and companionship.

More about this shelter

Volunteers needed now. Are you an animal lover, do you have a couple of hours each week to volunteer? Many opportunities available. Work with dogs, cats, bunnies, office work, fostering and more. For more details on volunteering contact Michelle Maltun at (805) 345-5741.

We care for stray and homeless animals, including cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, rabbits and other animals such as chickens, guinea pigs or iguanas. We always hope the family will come to reclaim their lost pet, but if not, we work to find a loving new family for them.

We ensure that dogs are current on their rabies vaccination and license.

At Animal Services, our goal is to ensure that all the animals in our County have a safe place to live. We work hard to find loving homes for the many dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals that come into our care. Together, with community partners and concerned citizens, we are making sure that all these animals have a "Forever Home!"
