My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! The name’s Quarter Pounder with Cheese…yes that’s my full name…but my friends call me QPC or Cheesy. I’m a smaller guy, at about 7.5lbs, but I think I’m a 60lb dog. If the name hasn’t hinted at anything yet, I’m kind of a character, in true orange tabby fashion.

I’m very communicative, I’ll let you know when my food dish is 1/2 way empty (not 1/2 full), or if I want fresh water from the shower. And then once those ‘needs’ are met, it’s time to play and help my foster humans do their computer work. I like playing fetch, because I’m a dog at heart and then really love holding my human’s arm or laying on their lap while they do computer things or read.

I’m fostered with dogs of all sizes and I truly believe I am one of them. I like nuzzling into them, running around the house with them, and sleeping near them. I am not fostered with other cats, but I am a pretty chill dude and think I would be just fine with them. Speaking of chill, I ride in the car very well.

Kids? Well, funny story, the day I was brought into rescue, I was found by 5 young girls who were taking turns carrying me around the lake campground and even catching fresh fish for me to eat. I’m unbelievably tolerant of kids and actually find them to be fun to play with.

Background: As mentioned, I was found outside screaming for someone to help me. After 2 months of screaming for help, the neighbors found me to be quite annoying, covered in ticks, fleas, ear mites, and scabs.. while running a high fever. You might say, I wasn’t made to be a wild tomcat, as hard as I tried. I’m not very good at hunting and the person who came to save me (my foster mom) strongly believes I was someone’s loving pet and was dumped. Hence, why I was found being carried around by several small kids, not trapped, like most outdoor cats. I got fixed, vaccinated, and did GREAT at my vet check up. I proved to myself that I’m not a wild feral cat and I quite like the comfort of canned food and soft blankets.

Please allow several days for us to process your application. We are a small, all-volunteer group and we are doing our best to work quickly! After the application is processed we will make arrangements for you to meet the cats that interest you. All of our cats and kittens are raised in our homes and live with us until they are adopted. They live with us as part of our families so we know them very well and we can help you find your perfect cat! Cats are rarely caged (only if its medically necessary) so you can visit with them and see how they act in a home.

Go meet their pets

We are completely foster home based and do not cage our cats unless medically necessary. Because we are foster home based, we require an approved application on file and will then make arrangements for you to meet that special cat or kitten!
