My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Girl Pups
Female Chiweenie/Terrier mix (wirehair/smooth coat)
DOB: March 6th, 2024
Adoption fee: $225.00

We are rambunctious girls. We would do best with children 8 years and older pending observed interaction. Should be trainable with a cat friendly dog. We would be best and some of us will require a physically fenced yard. Our size could be anywhere between 20 - 50 pounds. Our dad is less than 15 pounds and our mom is about 45 pounds.

Snowdrop is the most outgoing of the girls. She loves attention and is super cute. She resembles a Dachshund in body style/looks. Pansy is a little more reserved until she gets to know you, then she enjoys pets, she just doesn’t want you to interfere with her play time. Similar body style to Snow.

Shimmer and Wiggles are much more timid than the rest of the litter. Wiggles is very wiggly; she wants to be loved but will need more time to adjust and a more experienced owner. Shimmer is the same, she doesn’t understand “yet” the human/dog relationship.

More about this shelter

About Us:
We are the area's nonprofit advocate, sanctuary and source for companion animals since 1887.

Our Mission:
-to protect animals from suffering and cruelty
-to provide safe and responsible care for unwanted or abused companion animals
-to enhance the lives of animals and people through education, adoption, and foster care.

We believe in second chances at the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Our service area includes all of Calhoun County and parts of Kalamazoo, Barry and Branch counties. We keep animals as long as it takes to find a good home for adoption once the animal passes temperament testing and is checked for good health. The Watkins Road shelter cares for up to 100 animals a day, and adopts out more than 500 animals a year. Countless area residents use the Society’s animal care, adoption and education programs each year. The Humane Society is overseen by a board of directors. We do not receive any government or tax dollars, or national humane organization funding. Our services are made possible by people in our community who care about homeless cats and dogs - people like you!

The Humane Society of South Central Michigan values:
-The ethical and humane treatment of animals
-Its role as a shelter for animals that suffer from pain, fear, and neglect
-Community accountability for the welfare of its animals
-Responsible stewardship of our resources
-Community involvement to achieve our goals
-Education about responsible pet ownership
-The joy of sharing a life with animal companions
