I am as sweet as a cherry! I am a very nice and gentle girl just trying to learn how to trust. I can be quite shy, but I am learning everyday what it means to love and be loved by a human. I do enjoy some exercise, but it is not my favorite thing. When I get comfortable with my surroundings, I am sure to run amuck. I do enjoy getting pets and attention! I even give kisses! I am quite chill now, but once I come out of my shell you will be sure to see my goofy and sweet personality!

I am a little shy and may need time to warm up. A fenced yard is required as I am not too fond of walking on the leash, with that in mind I would not be a fit for an apartment. Although I haven’t been tested with cats, I should do okay with a cat friendly dog pending a proper and slow introduction. I would prefer to have another dog in the home, pending a meet and greet.

I am a sweet and lovely girl just looking for my forever home, could that be you?

Our application is available on our website, HSSCM.ORG

Approve Application

Processing takes 3-5 business days. We are currently not scheduling any visits without an approved application.

3.
Meet the Pet

After approval, we will schedule you/your household to visit + meet the pet of interest.

4.
Take the Pet Home

At the end of your visit, we would be able to complete adoption papers + you will take your new companion home!

Additional adoption info

All adoptions begin with an application on our main website, HSSCM.ORG.
Once your application is competed and submitted, processing generally takes 3 business days- pending our schedule and the number of applications ahead of yours. Once processed we will contact you and, if approved, will set up an appointment for an adoption counsel. If you are looking to adopt a dog and have a current dog in the home, we will require a match-up before finalizing any adoption.

About Us:
We are the area's nonprofit advocate, sanctuary and source for companion animals since 1887.

Our Mission:
-to protect animals from suffering and cruelty
-to provide safe and responsible care for unwanted or abused companion animals
-to enhance the lives of animals and people through education, adoption, and foster care.

We believe in second chances at the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Our service area includes all of Calhoun County and parts of Kalamazoo, Barry and Branch counties. We keep animals as long as it takes to find a good home for adoption once the animal passes temperament testing and is checked for good health. The Watkins Road shelter cares for up to 100 animals a day, and adopts out more than 500 animals a year. Countless area residents use the Society’s animal care, adoption and education programs each year. The Humane Society is overseen by a board of directors. We do not receive any government or tax dollars, or national humane organization funding. Our services are made possible by people in our community who care about homeless cats and dogs - people like you!
