My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lainey is a loving, resilient, and gentle 3-year-old silver lab mix with a heartwarming personality. Despite a challenging past that left her underweight and with a severe flea infestation, which resulted in significant hair loss, Lainey has shown remarkable strength and sweetness. She was also found nursing her puppies, who were in poor condition as well. After receiving treatment for a skin infection and an ear infection, she is now on a steady path to recovery.

Lainey loves human affection, particularly belly rubs, and enjoys a relaxed lifestyle with plenty of sleep. Her calm demeanor and affectionate nature make her an ideal companion for anyone looking to add a loving dog to their family. Lainey gets along with all animals. Adopting Lainey means gaining a loyal friend who has overcome adversity and continues to radiate love and warmth.

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
