Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, I’m Darcy! I’m a typical puppy fully of energy and mischief. I play hard and sleep hard (you don’t mind snoring, do you?)
I am house trained and crate trained. I love my people and I currently live with two cats. I don’t have the best manners towards the cats and the more they run and hiss the more I need to bark, pounce, and try to get them. I do think I can still learn because I’m so young and I’m currently being taught “leave” it but a home without cats might make my transition easier. There is a chinchilla cage right beside my pen and I don’t mind it so much. There’s just something about those cats! I currently have a dog friend in my foster home and I would love large breed dog sibling in my forever home.
I haven’t met many kids, but when I do I love them. Since I’m still a puppy, I can be nippy (I like to use my teeth) and I’m working on this. A home without small children or with dog savvy children would be best! I walk well on leash but sometimes pull when I’m excited (I do best with the leash clipped to the front of my harness).
I enjoy being outside. A home with a yard that I can spend time in would be my dream.
I am a fast learner and know / am working on the following commands: -sit -come -drop it (very handy when I put things in my mouth that I shouldn’t) -leave it -touch -go potty -down -middle
You might have noticed my cute split nose. Charming, right? Don’t worry, it doesn’t come with any increased medical care. I do tend to keep dirt in the split though so my water bowl needs to be changed frequently.
I can’t wait to meet you! located in Selwyn
Medical History: Darcy presented with a UTI in early July and was treated successfully with meds. At her follow up visit, Darcy had crystals in her urine. She was prescribed a diet change and weekly injections to build up the lining of her bladder. Darcy did well with the food change and was medically cleared to be spayed. During her final follow up appointment, Darcy’s pH levels were still high, suggesting a possible case of puppy vaginitis (no clinical signs to support this) or a physical abnormality in her vagina. Ruling out a physical abnormality would require a scope and is only recommended if there were clinical signs or if she was not presenting well. Her final urine test indicated that she is clinically clear, can resume her regular puppy food and will not need any additional follow up testing or appointments.

More about this rescue
We rescue mainly Bulldogs and other flat faced dogs!!!! We love the breeds and know they sometimes need extra care and love. Before you consider any of these breeds you should get familiar with the terms; cherry eye, entropian, dry eye, heat stroke, bloat, cruciate and know that sometimes these breeds can develop or have these issues. Also remember they drool, snore, pass gas and breath heavy this is not for everyone, but for us it is normal!
