After surviving a dog attack and being seriously hurt, Flower was rescued from her neglectful owner by a stranger. She’s demonstrated remarkable resilience and despite requiring leg amputation. she moves effortlessly, including navigating stairs. In a previous foster setting, she harmoniously coexisted with smaller dogs and a cat. However, she’s selective about canine companions and cautious around children. Now 10 months old, fully vaccinated, spayed, and weighing 40 pounds, she’s eager for a loving environment. With basic training and housebreaking complete, she is learning not to jump when greeting people. Flower is most likely full size, and ever so ready to provide affection and loyalty. A key aspect of her personality is her love for cuddling. A true testament about this sweet pooch from her rescuer; “I want so badly to get this sweet girl to a great home. More about this rescue
Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization founded in 1982 by volunteer workers who met at a "no-kill" animal shelter. Dismayed at the terrible living conditions of the animals there, they left to establish a rescue group to properly care for cats and dogs in need, and find them safe and loving homes.
Many of our animals are fostered by group members and outside volunteers, while other animals are housed at our facility. The animals come from various places. Some come from owners who are no longer able to care for them. Others are taken from shelters, yet still others (many others) come from the streets. Those rescued from the streets often arrive sick or injured, and are subsequently treated by veterinarians. We have great success finding homes for puppies and kittens as well as older animals and those with special needs (such as blind and handicapped cats and dogs). We pride ourselves on finding the best match between people and pets. We average about 600 adoptions per year!
We are always in need of donations to help us continue our mission - and we could not survive without our wonderful volunteers. We are always in need of more foster homes. We invite you to explore our website to learn more about us! https://www.ny-petrescue.org
