I brought Eris into my home to keep company with my other purebred, anxious, ridiculously expensive beagle, but ended up rehoming him and keeping her because of her sweet, submissive and intelligent demeanor. Her owner was a hunter that had too many beagles on his property.
She's house trained, leash trained and knows about 12 verbal and hand-sign commands.
She's all the things you want from a beagle. She's sweet, lazy, and excited when you come home, and a pillow when you want to relax. She's been our family dog for 6 years now, and she's been wonderful around kids, dogs, and cats over about 10 pounds. I don't know if she still has a prey drive or if she's only food aggressive toward tiny things. I think she would be best adopted as a single pet or with medium size animals and above.
I love her and hate to see her go, but we have 8 animals in our single family home in Norfolk and I'm hoping we can find someone to love her like we do.
