-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I remember the day I left my old home. There were so many of us—puppies everywhere, all hungry, all trying to get some attention and food. It was crowded and I always felt a bit anxious, never sure if there would be enough food or if I’d get a turn for a bit of affection. The humans who had us seemed nice enough, but there were just too many of us for them to handle and we just kept getting bigger and bigger. I overheard them talking one day. They were worried because they couldn't find homes for all of us puppies and didn't have enough money to keep feeding us all properly. That’s when I realized things were going to change. They couldn't take care of us anymore, and it made them sad. They wanted the best for us but didn’t know how to make it happen. They ended up reaching out to PPFT for help, and by some crazy miracle, they were able to squeeze all 10 of us in. Unfortunately, the day before we were scheduled to come to PPFT....one of my siblings passed away. My former owners think it was because he wasn't able to get enough food and kept getting pushed out of the way during mealtime. To be honest, we were all quite sick when we came to PPFT. We were dehydrated, full of parasites, skinny, and just not well off. Thankfully, we have all bounced back to healthy and happy puppies and it is time to start the search for my forever! Now, I’m just looking forward to finding my forever home, a place where I’ll always be safe and loved, and never have to worry about having enough to eat.

I’m a 13-week-old, 23-pound bundle of joy and fluff. My breed? I’m a Great Pyrenees mix, which basically means I’m destined to grow up into a gentle giant. At 13 weeks, I’m already pretty big for my age. I mean, I’ve got paws the size of dinner plates! Sometimes, I trip over them because, let’s face it, coordination is a work in progress. My foster family says I’m going to grow into those paws, but for now, it’s like having built-in clown shoes. Being a Great Pyrenees mix means I’ve got that luxurious, fluffy fur that everyone loves to pet. Seriously, I look like a tiny polar bear cub....well if polar bears came in brown and white. You can always get away with saying I am a rare and one-of-a-kind polar bear cub. I won't correct you! ;) The truth is though, we're not exactly sure what other breeds are in my mix. Sometimes, I think I might have a bit of kangaroo in me because I love to do these hilarious, awkward jumps when I get excited. Other times, I wonder if I have some sloth genes, especially when I stretch out for a nap and refuse to move for what feels like hours.

Living in my foster home has been quite an adventure! My foster humans say I’m playful when I feel comfortable, which is true. I guess I am a bit of a goofball once I get to know the other dogs around here. I'm like that shy kid at the playground who eventually joins in on the fun. At first, I'm a bit cautious, but once I feel comfortable, it's game on! I'll chase, wrestle, and play tag like a pro. My foster buddies here have been teaching me all the best moves. So, if you've got a dog already, that's awesome! They could help me keep practicing my social skills and we can be playmates. Now, about those mysterious creatures called cats. I've seen a few around here and, I have to admit, they intrigue me. I might bark at them a bit at first because, well, they're strange and do funny things like flick their tails and jump to places I can't reach. But don’t worry, I’m not aggressive—just curious. I haven't gotten up close and personal with one yet, but I think if given the chance, we could come to an understanding. I mean, they seem to have a pretty good life lounging around and looking regal. I could learn a thing or two from them! Kids? Oh boy, they are a different kind of fun. I haven't been around them much, but I think older kids would be great. I'm still a bit nervous about loud noises and unexpected things. You know, like when someone suddenly drops a toy or makes a funny sound. It’s like, whoa, what's happening?! But older kids usually understand that I need a bit of calm and patience. Plus, I heard they give the best belly rubs and treats. So, I'm all in for some older kiddo companions!

I’m a laid-back kind of pup. If you have a more active lifestyle? Well, I might need some convincing, like treats strategically placed along the way. If introduced slowly, I could warm up to the idea of tagging along on family adventures. Just don’t expect me to break any land speed records on our outings—I prefer a leisurely pace, you know, to take in all the scents and sights. Now, when it comes to a quiet lifestyle, count me in! I’m all about cozy naps, snuggling up with my favorite humans, and maybe a good chew toy to keep me entertained. Loud parties and bustling crowds? Not really my scene. I’d rather curl up in a comfy spot and watch the world go by. Let’s just say I’m a work in progress with this thing called a leash. I haven’t quite mastered the art of walking on it yet, but hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day, right? With some patience and gentle guidance, I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it. Until then, expect a few adorable wobbles, plops, and zigzags on our walks. Hiking? Hmm, I might be up for it. Nature sounds intriguing, but I’ll need to dip my paw in the water first, so to speak. Speaking of water, I haven’t shown much interest in it yet. Puddles are for splashing, right? But hey, who knows, maybe I’ll discover my inner water dog someday. As far as my energy level goes, I’d say I’m playful but not hyper. I enjoy a good romp in the yard, a game of tug-of-war, or exploring new toys. Oh, speaking of toys, I’m a big fan! Chew toys, squeaky toys, plush toys—you name it, I’ll give it a good sniff and a tail wag of approval. Fetch? Not my forte. I prefer a game of hide-and-seek with treats or a gentle game of tug. As for fetch, well, I might chase the ball a couple of times, but then I’ll look at you like, “You wanted me to bring it back? But it’s so far away now!”

Alright, let’s talk about my potential as an apartment pup! With the right exercise and attention, I might do okay in an apartment setting. However, I do have a knack for barking at strange noises. Picture this: a gentle breeze rustles a tree outside, and I’m on high alert, ready to defend my territory from the menacing leaves! So, if your neighbors are understanding or also have talkative pets, we could make it work. Now, potty trained? Not quite there yet. But hey, accidents happen, right? I’m still learning the ropes, or should I say, the leash? Speaking of training, kennels aren’t really my thing either. I prefer my cozy spot by the couch or under the bed where I can keep an eye on things. Chewing? Oh boy, it’s like a hobby for me. Sticks, cardboard, you name it—I’ll give it a good gnaw. It’s not that I’m picky, I just appreciate the texture variety, you know? And digging? Well, I dabble. Sometimes, a good hole in the backyard feels like a triumph of engineering. Given that I am still a puppy though that is just now getting to truly be a puppy...that shouldn't be too big of a surprise. ;) But fear not, I do have some manners. I’m familiar with the concept of a doggie door. It’s like having a magical portal to the great outdoors! So, if you’re looking for a pup with character, a flair for adventure (and maybe a few chewed sticks), I’m your guy!

So, there you have it—a peek into the paws and personality of yours truly, Bluejay the adventurous fluffball! Whether it’s barking at rogue leaves or discovering the wonders of cardboard, I bring a dash of excitement and a whole lot of love wherever I go. If you’re ready for a companion who will keep you laughing, guessing, and occasionally cleaning up a chewed stick or two, then I’m your perfect match. Let’s embark on this journey together, where every day is an adventure and every moment is filled with tail wags and cuddles. Apply for me at https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3

Once your application comes on, PPFT will send over more details about me and forward your app to my foster family for review. If everything still sounds like a match, PPFT will finish getting you all approved so you can meet and welcome me home! <3

Oh, another thing. I am being fostered in Sand Springs, OK. If you have fallen in love with me and are out of state, how about a road trip? PPFT doesn't send us on commercial transport to limit our stress. So, if you want to welcome me or one of my other fluffy butt comrades to your family, it is time to plan a trip to good ole Oklahoma 😉
