Alma came to ARC because her guardian could no longer take care of her. She has adjusted nicely to her new surroundings and enjoys the attention of staff, volunteers, and even strangers. She is a gentle natured kitty that welcomes petting and light stroking from all and we are sure she will soon snuggle in their laps for more attention.

The Animal Refuge Center (ARC) of Fort Myers is a not for profit animal welfare society dedicated to stopping the escalating cost to impound, care for, kill and dispose of dogs and cats dying for no reason other than having been born. ARC is helping to cut the large numbers of homeless animals which eventually cuts the costs to taxpayers, which to date has reached over half a million dollars a year.

ARC is a non-euthanasia organization. Once we accept an animal for adoption, IT WILL NOT BE DESTROYED TO MAKE ROOM FOR ANOTHER. We are here to help the unwanted and neglected animals who now face certain death.
