My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dexter was adopted by my grandfather in March of 2024 from the Miami-Dade Animal Rescue. Dexter, only a goofy and sweet 6 month-old chocolate lab/pit mix, instantly bonded with my grandfather and found a home that day. Sadly, however, my grandpa shortly after was diagnosed with dementia and is no longer fit to be the best parent for Dexter. It breaks our hearts but my grandfather is moving to assisted living where dogs are not allowed. Being a large puppy, Dexter loves to run and play. His favorite pass-time is lizard hunting (though he has yet to catch one). Adopting Dexter means receiving unconditional love and kindness. This little floppy-eared chocolate lab/pit mix will keep you laughing with his witty banter (talks/barks), his goofy grins, and his silly disposition. Even more, adopting Dexter will mean companionship and never-ending cuddles. He needs a large backyard and a happy, affectionate, kind, and active person.
