Meet Cognac! He's a sweet, smiley boy, and he's always eager to make new friends. Some of Cognac's favorite activities include rolling around in the grass on a sunny summer day, playing fetch or tug in the play yard, and munching on a big tasty treat. Cognac is a loose leash walker most of the time, and especially so when he can get away from the stressful shelter environment.
He recently went on an outing to Forest Park with a volunteer friend, and he was extremely well behaved and enjoyed exploring and sniffing. He was also a very good car passenger, sitting calmly in his seat and looking out the window the entire ride.
Cognac already knows sit, and the fact that he loves treats and is very smart should make it easy for him to quickly learn some more tricks.
He's also dog friendly! Cognac has participated in play groups at CARE, and CARE's volunteer trainers have noted that he's good at reading the cues of his dog friends and adapting to their play styles.
Since Cognac came to CARE in early June, he has not spent a single night out of the shelter, and the stress is really starting to get to him. He's a high energy boy, so it's so hard for him to sit in a kennel all day long, just wanting to get outside to run around and play.
Cognac would love to get into either a foster home or forever home soon! He would make a great addition to someone's family!
