My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Dug aka Duggie aka Mean Mug Dug....but he's not mean at all. :) Dug is a 6 month old Bulldog mix....we think?

Dug loves everybody he meets but can be a little shy at first....though his tail is always wagging! He likes to play but is pretty chill for a young pup. He loves cuddling with his people and is doing very well with his crate training. Dug sleeps in a crate at night with zero accidents for up to 8 hours. He will cry and whine if he is in his crate and needs to potty. He is working on house training and going outside without his human. It seems Dug may be a little nervous he won't be let back in so he likes company when he's outside. He's a quick learner, but it’s still a work in progress and will of course require patience and time to get into a routine with a new family.

Dug is VERY food motivated and perfected his "sit" command in no time! He eats fast and currently uses a slow-feeder bowl to make meal times last a bit longer. He currently lives with 2 female dogs and 3 cats. He's doing well with the kitties but he does love to chase. When given the chance, he sniffed and licked the cat and has since done great with him.

He’s a very sweet boy with the cutest underbite and pouty lip. He’s about 35 pounds now but needs to gain some weight. He goes to work with his foster mama and is an angel in his cage there. He walks well on a leash but is still learning about the world so he sometimes needs a little encouragement. He LOVES car rides and is a rockstar on drives.

WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?? He's the perfect package!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

If interested in any of our dogs, please submit an application of the dog you are interested in.

2.

Interview

We will reach out via a text to set up a mutually agreeable time to chat about what you are looking for and your lifestyle.

3.

Meet the Pet

We are hopeful you will connect instantly with one of our Sketchy Mutts, you might even have an opportunity to meet us out and about.

Additional adoption info

If we all agree that a current Sketchy Mutt might be a good fit, we will bring him to your home and introduce him to your dogs, cats, and human family members. If all goes well and everyone (including your animals) is in agreement, you will start a one-week (minimum) trial adoption. We want you to live day in, day out with the dog to see what it would really be like to bring him into your family. If at any point during the trial adoption you decide its not a good match, the dog goes back to his foster home.

More about this rescue

Sketchy Mutts and Underdogs is a 501c3 non-profit, all-volunteer organization, located in the Indianapolis metro area. We are dedicated to saving the lives of dogs who are at high risk of euthanasia in area shelters, due to behavioral issues, medical conditions, or overcrowding. We are primarily a foster-based organization, although we have the ability to temporarily house dogs in our facility until foster or forever homes can be found.
