We have a mixed breed (Leia) terrier we want to have fostered or rehomed. Leia is a very sweet girl who loves going to dog daycare and the playground, where she is great with other dogs and humans. She adores her owners (us), and we love her so very much. However, she is very protective of us. Visitors at our home has become a problem— she becomes protective and lunges/nips (not attack) them. She is also difficult on a leash for the same reason (we have been trained to handle easily). She has worked with a trainer, and we have made some progress (we are also willing to pay for her trainer to help train her in a new home for 3-6 visits). We feel with the right home— another dog to run around with would be great, a family without small children, and an owner/foster willing to work with her from the start, she will be very successful. She was born in late July of last year, is about 30 lbs, and currently lives in Gaithersburg with another dog, two adults, and a teenager.
