My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This little knucklehead has stolen our hearts <3  He is most happiest being in your lap (or even just in your presence), playing with his toys and anything and everything related to water!  On a sunny day we can find him lounging in the kiddie pools, and on the special occasion he gets to go into the human pool, he loves lounging on a floatie, or just being held. While most of our dogs learn to eat off a spoon for their wet food meals, as a special treat, Bob has not learned his table manners.  If you need a dog that can eat nicely off a spoon, Bob is not going to be your dog.  We will keep working on him though and he will have beautiful table manners by the time you take him home.

More about this shelter

We are a family run rescue that we have established on our property. We pull from local animal control and shelters, as well as owner surrenders and high risk shelters. At Hard Licker Ranch we operate in small packs so that we can socialize the dogs as well as to understand the most about their personalities. We have 2 barns that are temperature controlled, and the dogs have 24 hour access to come in and out through weathered doggy doors. We do it to make life better for every dog that comes into our care and give them a second chance. We also do community outreach and TNR. Our rescue is also a Sanctuary for barn cats who need a home!
