My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I am Sasha..but I probably wont answer to my name because I have grown a bit deaf in my age, so feel free to call me anything! I am a 12 year old 12 pound mix of cuteness and maybe a little chihuahua. I am back in the foster system through no fault of my own as my person recently passed away, but luckily CAWS found me in the shelter and busted me loose. I am now looking for a new beginning! I am mellow, quiet and sleepy. I don't make a peep so I would be great for apartment living! I am just as happy cuddling you as i am cuddling myself on a dog bed. I am pretty good at pottying outside or a pad inside. I am a little timid at first, but once I feel comfortable, I get a little bit of the zoomies. I just had a dental and only have 2 teeth left, but that doesn't stop me from living my best life and I hope I can find someone to live it with. Oh, and I get along with dogs, cats, people... you name it. Please fill out an application if you are interested.

Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $100. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
