Hi, my name is Westin. I'm a 4-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix, and I've had a bit of a rough time lately. My previous owners loved me, but they had to leave me with a friend, and things didn't go so well there. They had young kids, and I must admit, I can be a bit food aggressive. It's not something I'm proud of, but I've had times in my past when I was really hungry, and I haven't quite learned to trust that there will always be enough food for me.
So, I ended up here at the shelter. It's not the worst place, but I don't get out of my kennel very much, and that makes me sad. I miss the freedom to run and play, and most of all, I miss having someone to love me.
I know I shouldn't be so aggressive over food, and I don't mean to be. It's just that old habits die hard, especially when they've been born out of fear and uncertainty. But I'm not a bad dog. I promise, I have a good heart, and I want so much to be a good boy. I just need someone who understands what I've been through and is willing to give me a chance.
If you can see past my flaws and give me the love and understanding I need, I promise to be loyal and loving in return. I need a home where I can feel safe and secure, where I can learn to trust that there will always be enough food and love to go around.
So, if you're out there looking for a dog who needs a bit of extra care but has a lot of love to give, please think of me. I'm Westin, and I'm waiting here, hoping for someone to take a chance on me and help me become the best dog I can be.Fill out an adoption application online at: https://www.hshcky.org/
