My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Don't let Jasper's initial shyness fool you, he is one of the most fun, athletic, and beautiful Italian Greyhounds you'll ever meet! Jasper was shy during his first weeks with us, and still won't allow us to approach him from the front, but he quickly started sneaking into the bed to sleep with his foster-IG brothers, and booping the backs of our knees with his nose. After just a month, he now approaches us to get petted, puts his paw in our hands if we stop petting him, and will take treats and food from our hands. He needs some patience, but does make progress.

Jasper is not at all shy with other dogs, and has amazed our friends at the dog park. He is such a little athlete - a model IG. He's very fast and loves to run and play. He's made friends with our most playful cat and they chase each other through the house all day. He's got a lot of energy, so would do best in a place where he can get good exercise, whether with a fenced yard, other dogs, and/or frequent walks and playdates. He's pretty sturdy for an IG and could likely play with dogs larger than himself, but as with all IGs, leg-breaks are a risk. Jasper also LOVES chewing things, and while he hasn't chewed clothing or furniture, having some chew toys around will be important. His foster family can make recommendations if you'd like.

Jasper isn't fully potty trained yet, but does go to the bathroom when he is outside. That this could be remedied with some patience and consistent training. We have used belly bands while he's been here, and he does seem to be pad trained.

Jasper is looking for a forever home with an active lifestyle, ideally with other dogs, and some patience to get him through his first months. He will make you laugh, will be so grateful for food and gentle pets, and his light brown eyes will melt your heart!

Jasper is approx 4-5 years old, neutered and up to date on vaccines

Go meet their pets

Our rescues are with fosters on the east coast. The location in which the foster resides should be listed with each profile.

We are setting up some adoption events now, but are free for private meet and greets if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets!

More about this rescue

We have a passion for senior animals. To be able to save an animal from dying alone in a shelter, to give it a chance to live out its last days/months/years in a home with the proper care and love it deserves, instead of a cold shelter, is what drives us to keep going.

We obviously have financial needs that come with rescuing senior dogs, so we will be rescuing puppies and younger dogs as well so we are able to care for our seniors.
