My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Big Mac!

Age: 3 years

Breed: Brindle Mix

Arrived: May 2024

Big Mac is a sweet and shy brindle mix who’s ready to find a home where he can feel safe and loved ??. Although he’s been fearful in his kennel, he becomes much friendlier and more outgoing when he’s outside of it.

Personality:

Leash Skills: Big Mac tends to pull a lot during walks but walks better when he’s getting tired.

Treat Motivation: He is not very treat motivated but does know how to sit on command.

Good with Kids: He does well around children and is gentle with them.

Dog Interaction: He is not bothered by other dogs and interacts calmly with them.

Behavior in the Kennel:

Fearful: Big Mac has been very fearful in his kennel but shows a much friendlier demeanor when he’s out.

Playgroup Behavior:

Gentle and Dainty: In playgroup, Big Mac is gentle and dainty, often being nervous, shy, and timid.

Keep Safe: Handlers ensure he has positive interactions during group sessions to keep him safe.

Slightly Playful: While he is slightly playful, he can also exhibit prey-like behaviors and display a `kick me` sign when feeling overwhelmed.

Looking For:

Big Mac would thrive in a calm and loving home where he can feel secure and gradually build confidence. He’s a gentle soul who will benefit from a patient family willing to offer him the understanding and care he needs.
