My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Surah is the most beautiful hot potato you've ever met. This chonk-calico is looking for a family to love her for all of her piquant flavor! Above all, she's on the hunt for a forever friend who can be patient and give her the time and care she needs to come out of her shell. After that, she'll be happy to greet you at the door when you come home, relax near you in a sunny room on lazy afternoons, give you little chirps and headbutts as tokens of her esteem, and chase her favorite toy around with you during playtime. If you can give her striking personality the space to truly blossom, Surah could be the spice that makes everything in your world nice!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

When you adopt an animal, you’re not just saving the life of the animal you adopted. You’re also opening up space for the next animal in need. Our goal at the Morris Animal Refuge is to approach the adoption process holistically to make the best matches for our adopters and for our animals.

We are no longer requiring appointments or pre-approvals to adopt! Visit our shelter (1242 Lombard St) or PetSmart Adoption Center (2360 Oregon Ave.) during the following hours to adopt your new best friend. We will process your information at the time of adoption and in most cases your animal can go home with you on the same day.

1242 Lombard St. Shelter Adoption Hours:
Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday: 11-4
Wednesday: 11-7

2360 Oregon Ave. Adoption Hours*
Monday, Wednesday, Friday-Sunday: 12-3
Tuesday and Thursday: 6-8:30
*Please keep in mind that this center is staffed by volunteers, so hours are subject to occasional change based on volunteer availability

More about this shelter

The Morris Animal Refuge is a 501(c)(3) shelter dedicated to helping the homeless, abandoned and unwanted pets of the Philadelphia region.
