Kermit loves his human interactions, especially when he gets pets and cuddles. Volunteers have said that this jumpy energized pup is a playful goofball that always brings a smile to their face. He thrives on human interaction and will eagerly join you in any adventure. We also know that Kermit has the experience and potential to live with another dog within your household.
Being a young pup, Kermit is still working on becoming an adult dog. He would like a patient parent to teach him their home routines, tricks for treats, and other important dog behaviors. We are super lucky that he is treat-motivated and quick to learn.
If you’re looking for a lively, affectionate companion who will keep you entertained and shower you with love, Kermit is the perfect match for you! Come by his kennel and ask for staff to properly introduce you to your next forever companion!

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.
Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
