Take the Pet Home
Hi! My name is George Burns and I am 16 years young! When I came into the Pet Pantry I was in really rough shape and only weighed 5lbs! Upon exam and blood test it was discovered that I was Hyper-Thyroid. I was immediately put on medication to help with that and had my blood drawn every 2 weeks for re-checks. While it did improve, it was no where near where it needed to be. So the rescue veterinarian Dr. Fijalkowski determined I need my thyroids removed. They started with one and again, slight improvement but not enough. So I had my second one removed. With having them both removed I am now Hypo-Thyroid. I require medication twice a day and I take it with no problem at all!
I am happy to report that I now weight 8.6lbs and my bloodwork is all in normal range now! I am looking for a home to spend the rest of my golden years in that they will be committed to taking me to their regular veterinarian for routine check ups and keeping up with my medication. I am a sweet talkative boy who loves to watch out the window and take long naps in the sun.
I am neutered, microchipped, and up to date on my vaccines. I am available for adoption at the Pet Pantry’s main facility, 26 Millersville Road, Lancaster. If you think I may be the purrfect match for your family please fill out an adoption application! Applications are available at our location as well as online at petpantrylc.org. From there, our adoption coordinator will be in touch!
