Kylie was so shut down and terrified of people when she was first rescued. It was obvious she had very little human contact. She was so protective of her baby that she would stand guard and tried to protect them from humans who tried to come into the kennel. Eventually, it became necessary to separate them.
Kylie was placed in a foster home and in no time she became a completely different dog. She started wanting to be close to people, jumping up onto the couch beside her foster mom and the other dogs. She learned to enjoy cuddles, belly rubs, and the comfort of a gentle hand messaging her ears, sides, and legs. It was such a heartwarming experience to witness her transformation.
Kylie now gets excited and is all tail wags when her foster comes into the room. She always looks forward to receiving her cuddles, yummy treats, and hanging with the gang.
Kylie does great with other dogs, and didn't show interest in the cats at the rescue. She does well with most kids, although she is cautious around young kids and sometimes will get a little antsy around them. For that reason we recommend kids that are older and calmer.
Kylie would do great with a family that will be patient with her and allow her to adjust slowly to her new environment and come out of her shell. Their patience will be rewarded in spades!
