Meet Shaq, our charming 4-year-old who was found wandering an apartment complex and has quickly become a standout with his tall, ruggedly handsome demeanor. Much like his namesake, Shaq has a commanding presence and a heart of gold. While we're still getting to know this sweet boy, his playful antics in his kennel-constantly popping up to see what's going on-never fail to bring smiles to the faces of our staff.
His food motivation and intelligence make him a quick learner, and he's already proven to be housebroken. Although he prefers slow introductions to new situations and people, his endearing nature and eagerness to please make him a wonderful companion. With patience and love, Shaq is sure to blossom into an even more incredible friend.

CARE STL welcomes adopters to either come by the shelter or fill out an adoption application online to save some time at the shelter. The purpose of this application is to gather information about your home, pets, and general lifestyle to help our Match-Makers determine if the pet you wish to adopt is a good fit for both you and the pet.

We provide animal regulation services and help the city enforce Title 10 of the City of St. Louis Ordinance relevant to animal care and control; however, CARE STL also enforces and embraces the No-Kill equation and follows the guiding principles of no-kill shelters.
