Here's what the humans have to say about me:
RETTA
Retta is a 4 year old, female mastiff mix that weighs 100 lbs. And if ever there was a dog that was in need of rescue, Retta is it!
She came to us through a local shelter. Her owner had passed away the year prior and family took her in. She had been well cared for. Then, somehow, she wandered off and lived in the median of a busy interstate for months.
Retta is slowly, but surely, forgetting her time in the wild. When a dog is on its own for month, survival skills kick in and social skills disappear. It takes a while to reverse but with the help of a great foster home, we are proud to announce she bounces around, wags that nubbins of a tail, plays with this little pink ball and the other dogs. She's back!! She really is a sweet, gentle soul. All that's missing is for her to find "her person"
Her perfect home will be an adult home, preferably with a female owner. She will warm up to men, but slowly. She'll need a fenced in yard to prevent her from ever wandering again.
If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Retta's picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Additional adoption FAQ's can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants based on our "best family fit" approach.
Thank you!
