Meet MARLEE, our Rising Star!
When she came into rescue, Marlee was in horrible condition—matted, malnourished, and severely underweight. But with proper medical care, good nutrition, and lots of love, this sweet girl is truly coming back to life! Marlee is remarkably sweet and easygoing. She's really chill, doesn’t bark much, and doesn’t get ruffled easily. She enjoys getting frisky and engaging in playful tussles with her foster siblings. Playing ball, running around the yard, and traveling are some of her favorite activities. She rides well and recently went on a trip to the woods with her clan, thoroughly enjoying exploring the new environment. Marlee would do well in a home with a canine companion. Her low energy needs make her a great fit for anyone who would enjoy a peaceful pup. Despite her past experiences, she has not been crated and has done well in learning to potty outside. While Marlee isn't particularly fond of leash walking, she has had a yard for exercise and did fine on a leash while traveling. Marlee needs a patient and kind family who will help her continue to blossom into her full potential. If you’re looking for a calm presence with a pop of puppy energy, she may be just what the doctor ordered! Her foster family has enjoyed having her, rooting for her in recovery, and seeing her sweetness shine through.
Adopt Marlee and give this beautiful girl the loving home she deserves!
Please Note:
Must have another canine companion!
*Must have a FENCED-IN yard!*

More about this rescue
Somerset Cottage Poodle Rescue, established in 2013, is an all volunteer 501c(3) dog rescue funded by your donations. We rescue companion and senior dogs, at risk for euthanasia, from overcrowded shelters and provide them with the medical attention they need. We also redone dogs for owners who can no longer care for them. We do not have a facility so all of our dogs live in foster homes through out the Northern Virginia area until their adoption day. We are proud that we find them perfectly matched forever homes and families. We rescue and find permanent homes for approximately 250 dogs a year.
