My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, My name is Ruby because foster mom says I'm a gem! She found my brother and me by her house and couldn't help but take us in! I even found out my 2 year old foster brother was dumped here just over a year ago! Maybe that's why we get along so well. I love love love foster mom. I follow her everywhere she goes, even sometimes outside the fence which I guess wasn't built for a 12 pound puppy. Foster dad says she's in love with me. I guess I can't blame her. I love to play with my brother and my foster brother. We run in giant circles around the yard and then we take long naps which foster mom says is her favorite part of the day. I sleep the whole night in my kennel but f.m. wakes me up at 3am to go potty, isn't that rude! I went for a while without food so I do like to be selfish and keep my food and treats to myself, so she feeds me in my kennel. F.M. says I'm a very sweet girl with an adventurous side! She sometimes tells me no and for some reason I really understand what that means. Probably because I'm so smart! She also says I'm going to make someone's home complete one day.

Ruby is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Additional adoption info

Adopting from The Love Pit means gaining a family member. It means gaining a network of pit bull advocates, ready to support you and provide you with all of the resources we can. Most importantly, adopting from The Love Pit saves lives. When you adopt, you're saving the life of your own dog, opening space in their foster home for another shelter dog in need, and creating space in the shelter kennel for a dog whose life would have otherwise been on the line. Your thanks for all the good you've done? Lots of love and pit bull kisses to enjoy for years to come.

Go meet their pets

We have monthly adoption events at different locations in Dallas and Fort Worth which are announced on our social media pages and will also be posted on our website.

We will also set up an appointment with you to meet the dog of your choosing.
